Film Festival Entry

Kia ora everyone!

This is an exciting blog post that is all about celebrating our Ako Hiko film festival entry.

These tamariki have worked so hard to produce a film that has amazing filming techniques including a variety of shots and angels. There work stood out due to their perfect voice-overs and editing processes.

We all loved their storyline and the message they conveyed!

Well Done- Alisi, Leah, Ova,  Joseph, Elay, Angel, krisha, Eliezer, Tino, Genashua and Flo

Tongan Language Week in Minson Class

Last week was Tongan language week and we celebrated as both the whole school and as a class.

We learnt some common words and phrases and practiced using them in the classroom context.

We also had some of our students dress up in their traditional dress and had Tongan pray at breakfast time.

Some of our Tongan students helped us with pronunciation and were our in-class experts.

In pairs we created some screencastify videos of us using some of the words and phrases we had been using. Then we

posted them on our blogs- go and check out each individuals videos!

Sites and Screenshots

Kia ora koutou,

Today in Cybersmart with Phil we were challenged to play a bingo game where we had to take screenshots of different parts of our class site.

It’s really important to be able to find things on our class site quickly. This is called navigating our class site.

Here are is Asmah’s bingo mahi…

If you want to see more, check out her slides…

Got a spade? It’s time for the digital dig…

Here are Alisi’s slides from today. Have a look and maybe you’ll pick up some tips and tricks for your Chromebook.

Soon our individual blogs will be in a list on the right of our blog. You can check these out to see what else we’ve been doing in class. —————————>

Creating our visual pepeha’s

Visual Pepeha’s

We have been busy finishing  some beautiful artwork that we have created in class.

They are visual pepeha’s– representing who we are and where we come from.

We have used the traditional concept of a pepeha and put an artistic twist on it

Have you ever seen a visual pepeha before? Would you like to create one of your own?  What would you put in yours?
